Contractor Classification

Within the last few years, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and various other State and Federal agencies have greatly increased their efforts to ensure that companies comply with laws regarding Independent Contractors (ICs). Their primary focus is the misclassification of workers as ICs.

In order to simplify and expedite the program and most importantly, to ensure accurate classification of Intuit’s contract workers, consultants and suppliers, Intuit has partnered with TalentWave. TalentWave is a leader in Independent Contractor Compliance and Professional Payroll & Benefit Management.

Our policy and relationship with TalentWave is intended to protect Intuit, employees and ICs from significant tax penalties and other negative consequences which arise from improperly classifying a person as an IC. This policy also prevents the parties from entering into an IC agreement which is prohibited or limited by law, policy or other contract.
